BSB Merit-Based Scholarships
Burgundy School of Business is a French grande école in Dijon with a second campus in Lyon, best known for its specialisations in wine and spirits business, finance, and arts and cultural management alongside the standard management portfolio. It offers up to 100 merit-based scholarships each year, each covering between 10 and 25 per cent of first-year tuition, for international students holding an international diploma or degree who are admitted to one of its programmes. The scale is what makes this worth your time: a hundred awards is a genuinely large pool by French business-school standards, and eligibility is defined simply as holding an international qualification rather than by nationality quota, so a Sri Lankan bachelor's or A/L profile is squarely in scope. Selection weighs academic achievement, the quality of your application and the admission interview, so this is one where a considered application actually moves the needle. Two practical notes. The merit scholarship is not cumulative with BSB's Early Bird discount, so you take whichever is worth more. And the reduction applies to the first year of study, which means you should budget the full fee for subsequent years when you calculate the total cost and the funds you will need to show for the French student visa.
Applications open for the 2027 intakes — rolling scholarship deadlines run from 17 September 2026 through to 10 June 2027, the last deadline for the September 2027 intake

info How this award actually works
Who awards it
Burgundy School of Business — not Lanka Scholar. We are not the awarding body and cannot grant, reserve or guarantee this award.
How you are considered
Through your admission application. Awards like this are usually assessed automatically from the application you already submit — there is typically no separate scholarship form to fill in.
What it covers
10% to 25% First-Year Tuition Reduction, Up to 100 Awards. This is a reduction in tuition, not a full ride. You still fund the remainder, plus living costs and the balance your visa requires you to show.
Where we come in
We make the admission application strong enough to be competitive — course choice, documents, references and deadlines. The funder makes the decision.
fact_check Eligibility Criteria
Holder of an International Diploma or Degree
All students holding an international diploma or degree who are admitted to a BSB programme may apply. Sri Lankan A/Ls, a Sri Lankan bachelor's, or a Cambridge or Edexcel qualification all count as international diplomas here — there is no nationality shortlist.
Admitted to a BSB Programme
The scholarship attaches to admission, so you apply for the programme first. Bachelor, Master in Management and MSc programmes are the main routes; check whether the specific programme you want is inside the merit scheme.
Assessed on Merit and Interview
Awards are decided on academic achievement, the overall quality of your application, and the admission interview. This is not automatic — invest in the interview preparation.
Not Cumulative With the Early Bird Discount
The merit scholarship cannot be combined with BSB's Early Bird discount. Work out which is worth more for your programme before you decide when to apply.
English Proficiency
BSB's English-taught programmes typically require IELTS around 6.0–6.5 or an accepted equivalent. Sri Lankan applicants with an English-medium degree should ask admissions in writing whether an MOI letter is accepted before skipping the test.
account_tree Application Process
Apply for admission to a BSB programme
Submit your application with attested transcripts, degree or A/L certificates, CV, passport copy and English evidence. Apply well before your target rolling deadline.
Apply for the merit-based scholarship
Submit the scholarship application against one of the rolling deadlines between 17 September 2026 and 10 June 2027. Earlier rounds face a less crowded field.
Admission interview and decision
The interview feeds both the admission and the scholarship decision. Awards range from 10 to 25 per cent of first-year tuition depending on the strength of the application.
Complete Campus France and apply for the visa
Sri Lankan applicants go through the Campus France Études en France procedure before the long-stay student visa (VLS-TS). Your scholarship letter reduces the tuition you must evidence, but you still need to show living funds of the required monthly amount.

Looking for a scholarship because of the cost?
Then start here instead. Scholarships are competitive, usually partial, and decided by someone else — they are the least reliable way to make studying abroad affordable. Your destination and course choice move the number far more, and both are entirely within your control.
