Frequently asked

Proof of funds, explained

How much money do I need to show for a student visa? expand_more
It depends on the country. The figure is your first year of tuition plus a living-cost amount set by that country's immigration authority — for example, the UK wants £1,334/month (London) for up to 9 months, Australia wants AUD 29,710 for the year, and Canada wants CAD 20,635. The calculator above adds tuition for your programme to the official requirement and shows the total in rupees.
What is the UK 28-day rule, and why do people fail it? expand_more
For the UK Student Route, the full required amount must sit in your (or your sponsor's) bank account for 28 consecutive days, on a statement dated within 31 days of applying. If the balance dips below the threshold on even one of those days — including a same-day transfer out — the application is refused. It is the single most common UK refusal reason, which is why we re-check the maths several times before submission.
Can my parents be my sponsor? expand_more
Yes, in most countries. You submit your sponsor's bank statements plus a sponsor declaration and proof of relationship. The hold-period and traceability rules then apply to your sponsor's account — something we structure correctly so it does not trigger a refusal.
A blocked account or GIC sounds expensive — is that money gone? expand_more
No. A German Sperrkonto (€11,904) or a Canadian GIC (CAD 20,635) is your own money held in a controlled account and released back to you in monthly instalments after you arrive. It is funds you must hold, not a fee you pay — so it should not be counted as a "cost".
Do these amounts change? expand_more
Yes — immigration authorities revise them, often once a year (Italy, for instance, raised its requirement sharply for 2026/27). Every figure here is sourced from the official authority and dated; we last reviewed them on 28 May 2026 and we always confirm the live figure before you transfer money.
Is your visa help free for students? expand_more
Yes — our service is 100% free for students across our four offices. We are paid by the universities we partner with, not by you. That includes structuring your funds and assembling the financial-evidence pack.
