Universities pay us — never you

How scholarships change this math
Eiffel Excellence Scholarship is the gold standard — French government fully-funded for top non-EU applicants at French institutions. Charpak Master's Scholarship is India + neighbours (Sri Lankan applicants eligible) — €700/month + flights + visa fee. HEC Paris, INSEAD and ESSEC offer institutional scholarships at 20–60% of MBA tuition for women, underrepresented backgrounds, and merit.

Yes — Sorbonne charges €3,770/year (Master's, non-EU). HEC Paris charges €40,000+/year. They're effectively different markets. Most Sri Lankan applicants target public universities for cost, or pair Grandes Écoles with the Eiffel scholarship. -
Can I work during study? expand_more
964 hours/year (~18.5 hours/week), full-time during scheduled holidays. Most Sri Lankan students earn €11–€14/hour gross at hospitality and tutoring. -
What is the APS work permit? expand_more
Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour — a 24-month residence permit after a French Master's that lets you work full-time without employer sponsorship. Significantly more generous than the UK Graduate Route in some respects. -
Is Campus France a real cost? expand_more
Yes — Campus France charges €370 in processing fees on top of the visa fee. Mandatory for Sri Lankan applicants, regardless of which French institution you attend. -

Yes — VLS-TS for the student, accompanying-family long-stay visa for the partner. Once you get the OFII validation, your partner can apply for a work permit.
