UOW International Scholarship
The UOW International Scholarship reduces tuition by 20% to 30% each year of study for international Bachelor's and Master's students. The tier depends on your academic profile at point of admission — stronger A/Ls or a higher-classification Bachelor's targets the upper band. The award is automatic on offer (no separate scholarship form) and is applied every year of study, not just year one — which makes total savings significant over a 3-4 year degree. Wollongong is a 75-minute train from Sydney and consistently ranks in the world top 200.

International Student
Open to overseas-fee-paying international students. Sri Lankan citizens applying for a UOW degree on the Wollongong, Sydney CBD, or Liverpool campuses are eligible.
Bachelor's Applicants
Sri Lankan A/L 3 Bs or stronger typically meets the 20% tier. 2 As + 1 B (or stronger) targets the 30% tier. IB candidates need 32+ points for the upper band.
Master's Applicants
A Bachelor's degree with a weighted average around 65% (Sri Lankan second-upper) qualifies for the 20% tier. First-class or distinction-level results target the 30% band.
Maintain Eligibility
Continue full-time enrolment in your UOW degree and maintain satisfactory academic progress each session for the scholarship to renew automatically.

Apply to a UOW degree
Submit your UOW application via the online portal or through a Lanka Scholar adviser. Include transcripts, English-test results, and references where required.
Offer with scholarship tier
Once your academic file is assessed, the UOW offer letter explicitly states whether the International Scholarship is attached and at what percentage.
Accept + pay deposit
Confirm your place by accepting the offer and paying the tuition deposit by the stated deadline. The scholarship credit is applied to every annual tuition invoice.
Visa + arrival
Use the offer + CoE to apply for the Subclass 500 student visa. UOW's international team handles ongoing scholarship renewal automatically subject to progression.
