Western International Award (Undergraduate Scholarship)
Western University's International Award is a renewable entrance scholarship for high-achieving international undergraduates, ranging from CAD 10,000 to CAD 50,000 spread across the four-year Bachelor's. Offer for a Western Bachelor's Programme
Hold an offer for a first-year Bachelor's programme at Western or one of its affiliated colleges (Brescia, Huron, King's). Transfer applicants and pathway students are typically not eligible.
International Fee Status
Open only to overseas fee-paying students. Sri Lankan citizens applying from Sri Lanka are eligible; Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected persons are not.
Strong Academic Record
Award tiers are based on final qualifying exam results. Sri Lankan applicants typically need 3 As at A/L (Cambridge or Edexcel) for the CAD 30,000+ tiers; 2 As and a B for the entry-level CAD 10,000 award.
English Proficiency
Meet Western's English requirement — typically IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 83+. Some programmes (e.g. Ivey, MIT-equivalent) require higher minimums.

Apply via OUAC
Submit your Western undergraduate application through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). International applicants use the OUAC 105 form. There is no separate scholarship form.
Automatic consideration
All eligible offer holders are automatically considered for the International Award. The award value is calculated from your final qualifying results and confirmed in your offer letter or shortly after.
Accept and enrol
Accept the Western offer through OUAC by the deadline and pay the enrolment deposit. The award is paid out as a tuition credit each year, contingent on maintaining the required GPA (typically 70%+ each year) and full-time enrolment.
