Offer for an Alberta Bachelor's Programme
Hold an offer for a full-time first-year Bachelor's programme at the University of Alberta. Transfer students, pathway students, and second-degree applicants are typically not eligible for the entrance scholarship.
International Fee Status
Open only to international students paying overseas fees. Sri Lankan citizens applying from Sri Lanka are eligible; Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected persons are not.
Strong Academic Record
Award tiers are based on final qualifying exam results. Sri Lankan applicants typically need an admission average of 80%+ for the CAD 5,000 award and 90%+ for the CAD 9,000 award — usually achieved with 3 As at A/L (Cambridge or Edexcel).
English Proficiency
Meet Alberta's standard English requirement — typically IELTS 6.5 with no band below 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 86+ with each section 21+. Specific programmes may require higher.

Automatic consideration
All eligible offer holders are automatically considered for the entrance tuition scholarship. The award is calculated from your final qualifying results and is confirmed in your offer letter or shortly after final transcripts arrive.
Accept and enrol
Accept your Alberta offer through Bear Tracks (the student portal) and pay the enrolment deposit by the deadline. The award is applied as a tuition credit in Year 1. To retain higher-tier related awards (Gold Standard, International Excellence), you must maintain a strong GPA each year.
