NTU Talent Scholarship

Most scholarships reward what your transcript says. The NTU Talent Scholarship rewards what you have done outside it — sustained achievement in the arts, in sport, or in leadership — and pairs it with a package that covers the full subsidised tuition fee after Singapore's MOE Tuition Grant, a living allowance of S$6,500 per academic year, and a talent grant of up to S$8,000 to develop the ability that got you selected. NTU states eligibility as open to all nationalities, so Sri Lankan applicants are directly in scope. This is a genuinely useful route for the Sri Lankan student who has represented a school or a province in sport, performed seriously in music or dance, or built something real in a student organisation, and whose A/L results are strong but not stratospheric. Selection is by interview: freshmen are interviewed between February and April, with a mid-term intake interviewed in July and August. Two conditions to weigh honestly. Applicants to the full-term Medicine programme are not eligible. And international students who accept the MOE Tuition Grant take on a three-year bond to work for a Singapore-registered company after graduation — a serious commitment worth thinking through before you sign, though for many graduates it is the launchpad they wanted.

Who awards it

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore — not Lanka Scholar. We are not the awarding body and cannot grant, reserve or guarantee this award.

How you are considered

Through your admission application. Awards like this are usually assessed automatically from the application you already submit — there is typically no separate scholarship form to fill in.

payments

What it covers

Full Subsidised Tuition Plus S$6,500 Annual Living Allowance and Talent Grant. This is a reduction in tuition, not a full ride. You still fund the remainder, plus living costs and the balance your visa requires you to show.

Where we come in

We make the admission application strong enough to be competitive — course choice, documents, references and deadlines. The funder makes the decision.

Open to All Nationalities

NTU lists this scholarship as open to all nationalities. Sri Lankan applicants apply on the same basis as Singaporean and other international candidates.

auto_awesome

Outstanding Talent in Arts, Sport or Leadership

The award is for students with demonstrated achievement outside academics. Provincial or national representation in sport, serious performance credentials in music or dance, or substantial leadership in a student or community organisation all count — but you need evidence, not enthusiasm.

Standard NTU Entry Qualification

You must be applying with A-Levels, the IB, a polytechnic diploma or an equivalent Year-12 qualification. Sri Lankan A/Ls and Cambridge or Edexcel A-Levels are assessed on equivalence.

Full-Term Medicine Applicants Excluded

Applicants to the full-term Medicine programme are not eligible for this scholarship. If Medicine is your goal, look at NTU's other funding routes instead.

Three-Year MOE Tuition Grant Bond

International students accepting the MOE Tuition Grant are bonded to work for a Singapore-registered company for three years after graduating. Factor this into your plans before accepting.
