NTU College Scholarship

The NTU College Scholarship is one of Singapore's most generous undergraduate awards for international students — a full tuition fee waiver plus a SGD 6,500 annual living allowance for the duration of the Bachelor's degree (3 or 4 years). Available across all NTU undergraduate programmes, the scholarship is awarded to a small number of outstanding international applicants each year. Sri Lankan applicants from leading Colombo schools (Royal, Visakha, Ananda, Methodist) with strong A/L results have been historically well-represented in NTU's international scholar cohorts.

Outstanding Academic + Leadership Record

Strong A/L results (typically 4 As, Cambridge or Edexcel) plus demonstrated leadership — student council, sports captain, debate, Olympiad, or significant extracurricular commitments. NTU explicitly weighs leadership alongside grades.

English Proficiency

Sri Lankan applicants with A/L English at C+ or higher typically satisfy NTU's English requirement without a separate test. IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL iBT 90+ is accepted where required by programme.

1

Apply to NTU undergraduate admissions

Submit your NTU application via the online admissions portal during the international applicant round (typically October to mid-January). Indicate your scholarship preferences within the application — there is no separate scholarship form for the NTU College Scholarship.

2

Shortlist + scholarship interview

Shortlisted applicants are invited for an online interview (typically March–April) with NTU faculty and admissions staff. The interview tests motivation, leadership thinking, and programme fit.

3

Scholarship offer in May

Successful applicants receive the scholarship offer letter in May. The offer is conditional on final A/L results meeting the published threshold (typically 4 As).

4

Accept + arrange Singapore visa

Accept the offer through the NTU portal and pay the acceptance deposit. Apply for the Singapore Student's Pass via SOLAR+ once enrolled. The tuition waiver and living allowance start in Trimester 1 (August).

Why NTU?

NTU consistently sits in the world's top 15 universities (QS) and is one of Asia's leading research institutions. Particularly strong in engineering, computing, business (Nanyang Business School), and communications. The Singapore-Sri Lanka tech and finance corridor is dense — Sri Lankan NTU alumni are well-placed across DBS, Standard Chartered, and the regional tech ecosystem.
