Non-EU/EEA Fee-Paying Citizen
Reserved for citizens from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland required to pay tuition at Swedish universities. Sri Lankan passport holders qualify automatically.
KTH Master's Admission
Apply for and be admitted to one of KTH's 60+ English-taught Master's programmes — strongest options for Sri Lankans include Computer Science, ICT Innovation, Machine Learning, Embedded Systems, Engineering Physics, and Sustainable Energy Engineering.
Strong Academic Record

English Proficiency
IELTS 6.5 (no band below 5.5) or TOEFL iBT 90+ for most KTH Master's. KTH may waive the English test for applicants whose Bachelor's was conducted in English at a recognised university — Sri Lankan English-medium engineering Bachelor's degrees often qualify.

Submit your KTH Master's application via the central Sweden admissions portal by 15 January 2026. Pay the SEK 900 application fee. Rank up to 4 programmes — list your top KTH programme first if KTH is your priority.
Submit the KTH scholarship application
Once admission applications are submitted, complete the KTH Scholarship application via the KTH scholarship portal (typically opens early February 2026). Submit: motivation letter (max 4,000 characters), CV, and any supplementary information.
Selection at programme + university level
KTH school directors rank scholarship applicants within each programme. Top-ranked candidates across the university receive tiered offers (25%-100%). Strongest fields (ICT, Computer Science, Engineering Physics) tend to have more competitive cut-offs.
Award + study start
Scholarship outcomes are typically announced early April. The tuition reduction is automatically applied to each semester's invoice. Stackable with SISGP and external awards where rules permit.
