The scholarship applies to students who pay tuition in Sweden — i.e. non-EU/EEA citizens. Sri Lankan citizens are eligible. EU/EEA students study free and do not use this scheme.
Academic Merit
Reductions are awarded on academic performance and admission ranking. A strong Bachelor's in a relevant technical field from a recognised Sri Lankan university competes best for the higher percentages.
Admission to an Eligible Master's
You must first be admitted to a BTH English-taught Master's that participates in the scholarship scheme. The reduction attaches to your admission.

Swedish Master's require English 6 / IELTS ~6.5 (no band below 5.5) or equivalent, or an English-medium degree; a Sri Lankan MOI letter can help evidence English-medium study.

Admission + scholarship decision
BTH issues admission results and, for scholarship applicants, the tuition-reduction decision (25%–100%). The reduction lowers the invoiced tuition.
Pay remaining tuition and get the residence permit
Pay the first tuition instalment (net of the reduction) and apply for the Swedish student residence permit via Migrationsverket, showing admission, the reduction, and maintenance funds for living costs.
