Bocconi International Awards for Undergraduate Students
The Bocconi International Awards for Undergraduate Students are the flagship merit scholarships for incoming Bachelor's students at Bocconi University — Italy's top-ranked private business and economics university and one of Europe's most respected institutions. Each award covers a full tuition-and-fees waiver plus a contribution of EUR 12,000 per year toward living costs, renewable across the three years of the Bachelor's subject to academic conditions (roughly LKR 4M+ per year in living support on top of waived tuition). The awards are highly competitive and selection is merit-and-talent based, with a separate scholarship application alongside admission. For Sri Lankan school-leavers, a top A/L profile (typically three As in relevant subjects such as Combined Maths, Economics, and a third), or a strong IB/Cambridge record, is the baseline; quantitative subjects help for Bocconi's economics and management degrees. Confirm the current value, number of awards, and deadlines on the Bocconi scholarship pages, as terms are revised each cycle.

Non-Italian Nationality
Open to non-Italian citizens. Sri Lankan citizens applying from Sri Lanka are eligible. Italian citizens (including Italian dual nationals) apply via separate Bocconi awards for Italian students.
Outstanding Secondary Record
Top-decile academic performance: three strong A/L passes (typically all As) in subjects relevant to the course, IB 38+/45, or equivalent. Strong quantitative subjects (Combined Maths, Economics) matter for Bocconi's management and economics Bachelor's.
Admission to a Bocconi Bachelor's
You must apply for and be progressing toward admission to an eligible Bocconi Bachelor's programme (Economics, Management, International Economics & Business, Mathematical and Computing Sciences, and similar). The award attaches to undergraduate admission.
English Proficiency
Bocconi's international Bachelor's are taught in English — IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL iBT 88+ (some programmes higher). Sri Lankan applicants from English-medium schooling may qualify via an MOI/exemption route; confirm with Bocconi.
account_tree Application Process
Apply to the Bocconi Bachelor's
Submit your Bocconi undergraduate application via the online portal (applications open August/September the year before entry) with transcripts, predicted/achieved A/L results, and English evidence. An application fee applies.
Submit the International Award application
Complete the separate scholarship application via the Bocconi scholarship portal, including the required motivation/essay materials and any supporting documents, before the scholarship deadline (around March).
Merit-and-talent selection
Bocconi's selection committee reviews academic record, motivation, and overall profile. Awards are confirmed in spring; the number of awards is limited and competition is international.
Accept and apply for the Italian student visa
Accept your place and scholarship, then apply for the Italian student visa via the Italian consular service covering Sri Lanka (currently the Embassy in New Delhi / Delhi consular district). Use your offer, scholarship, and financial documents.
