Strong Secondary Results
Sri Lankan A-Levels or an equivalent recognised qualification with good grades. Higher award bands require correspondingly stronger results; some programmes such as dentistry and pharmacy have additional subject requirements.
GPA Renewal Condition
The scholarship continues year to year only if you maintain the GPA stated in the award letter. Read that threshold carefully and budget for the possibility of losing the reduction in a difficult semester.
Check Programme Accreditation
Confirm the specific programme's accreditation status — UAE CAA plus, where applicable, ABET, AACSB or professional body recognition — and how it is treated by the relevant Sri Lankan regulator if you intend to practise back home.
English Proficiency
IELTS 5.5-6.0 or TOEFL iBT 71-79 depending on programme, with waivers where prior study was fully in English. Ajman also offers an English foundation pathway for applicants who fall short.

Select the programme and verify recognition
Confirm the programme's accreditation and, for regulated fields such as pharmacy, dentistry and engineering, how the qualification is treated by the Sri Lanka Medical Council, the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka or the relevant authority.
Submit the admission application

Scholarship assessment
The merit award is assessed with admission. Get the award percentage, its duration and the GPA renewal threshold stated explicitly in the offer letter.
UAE student residence visa
The university sponsors the student residence visa. Budget for the visa, Emirates ID, medical test and health insurance, which together typically run AED 4,000-6,000 for the first year.
Plan for post-study options
The UAE Green Visa allows qualifying graduates to remain and seek work without an employer sponsor. Confirm the current eligibility criteria — including GPA and degree level thresholds — well before graduation.
