Xamk Tuition Fee Scholarships

Xamk runs one of the most clearly documented tuition discount systems among Finland's universities of applied sciences, which makes it easy to model your real cost before you commit. The headline fees are EUR 10,700 a year for Bachelor's degrees and EUR 13,500 for Master's, payable by non-EU/EEA students on English-taught programmes. From there, several discounts stack up. An Early Bird discount of 10% applies if you accept your place within 7 days and pay within 21 days of admission — worth roughly EUR 1,070 on a Bachelor's, or about LKR 369,000. From the second year, a Study Progress discount of EUR 2,500 is granted to Bachelor's students who complete 55 ECTS credits, hold a grade average of 3.0 or above and maintain 75% attendance. On top of that, the Xamk Award gives students who already qualify for the progress discount a further EUR 300, EUR 600 or EUR 900 depending on points earned through community activities, where 10 hours of activity equals 1 point. Xamk also pays generously for learning Finnish: EUR 500 per 5 ECTS of Finnish studies up to EUR 1,000 a year, plus EUR 3,000 paid directly to you on graduating at B1 level. Master's students get a EUR 3,000 graduation award for finishing within the regular study time with a grade average of 3.5 or above, and the same EUR 3,000 Finnish language award at B1 verified by an official YKI or VKT test. What none of this covers is living costs, the Finnish residence permit, insurance or flights. Budget around EUR 700-900 a month for Mikkeli, Kotka, Kouvola or Savonlinna — cheaper than Helsinki, but you must still show funds to Migri for the permit.

Applications for autumn intakes run through Finland's joint application system (Studyinfo) in January, with a separate round often in August-September. Early Bird conditions are triggered by your admission letter — confirm current fees and discount terms on xamk.fi

how_to_reg

How you are considered

Through your admission application. Awards like this are usually assessed automatically from the application you already submit — there is typically no separate scholarship form to fill in.

payments

What it covers

10% Early Bird + EUR 2,500 Progress Discount + Language and Activity Awards. This is a reduction in tuition, not a full ride. You still fund the remainder, plus living costs and the balance your visa requires you to show.

handshake

Where we come in

We make the admission application strong enough to be competitive — course choice, documents, references and deadlines. The funder makes the decision.

Non-EU/EEA Fee Payer

These discounts exist because non-EU/EEA students pay tuition: EUR 10,700 a year for Bachelor's and EUR 13,500 for Master's on English-taught programmes. Sri Lankan nationals fall into this group.

schedule

Early Bird Timing Is Strict

The 10% discount requires accepting your place within 7 days and paying within 21 days of receiving admission. Have the funds ready and transferable before results are released — this is the most commonly missed award.
