Laurea University of Applied Sciences Scholarship
Laurea runs campuses across the Greater Helsinki region — Espoo, Vantaa, Kerava, Hyvinkää and Lohja — which is the practical selling point: you are inside Finland's largest labour market rather than in a remote university town, and Laurea's degrees are built around Learning by Developing, where coursework is delivered through real projects with employer partners. English-taught Bachelor's programmes include business management, service design, nursing, security management and restaurant entrepreneurship. Non-EU tuition sits around €9,500-11,000 a year and the scholarship covers 50-100% of it, renewed annually against credit completion. Nursing is worth flagging specifically for Sri Lankan applicants: Finland has a documented shortage of registered nurses, and a Finnish nursing degree leads to registration with Valvira, though Finnish language competence becomes essential for clinical practice.

Non-EU/EEA Citizen
The fee waiver applies to tuition-liable students from outside the EU/EEA. Sri Lankan passport holders qualify.
Recognised Upper-Secondary Qualification
Sri Lankan A-Levels or an equivalent. Applicants holding a relevant Sri Lankan diploma should request a credit assessment, which can shorten the degree.
National UAS Entrance Examination
Admission to Finnish universities of applied sciences runs through a shared entrance examination testing reasoning, English and subject skills. Results carry most of the selection weight.
English Proficiency
IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, or a pass in the English section of the entrance exam. Note separately that clinical nursing practice in Finland requires Finnish language competence — plan for that from the first year if nursing is your target.
