King's College London International Postgraduate Award
The King's College London International Postgraduate Award is a tuition discount of £5,000 to £10,000 for high-achieving international Master's students joining most King's faculties — Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Public Policy, Natural Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences & Medicine, and parts of the Business School. It is one of the more accessible postgraduate awards in central London, with around 100 awards each cycle. Sri Lankan offer holders should apply early; the scheme has historically closed before the published deadline once funds are exhausted.

Offer for an Eligible King's Master's
You must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a full-time, one-year postgraduate taught (Master's) programme at King's College London. Some Business School programmes (Banking & Finance, IAF, Asset Pricing) sit under a separate scheme.
International Fee Status
Open only to overseas fee-paying students. Sri Lankan citizens applying from Sri Lanka are eligible; UK home-fee students and students already studying at King's are not.
Strong Academic Record
Awards are merit-based. Sri Lankan applicants typically need a first-class or high upper second-class Bachelor's from Colombo, Peradeniya, Moratuwa, Kelaniya, SLIIT, NSBM, or a recognised foreign university.
English Proficiency
Meet King's standard English requirement for your programme — typically IELTS 7.0 overall with no element below 6.5 for most arts and social science Master's.
account_tree Application Process
Apply for the Master's first
Submit your King's postgraduate application via the King's online portal. The earlier you apply (and receive an offer) the better — scholarship rounds run on rolling review.
Complete the scholarship form
After offer, log back into the King's portal and complete the International Postgraduate Award form — a short personal statement (around 500 words) on your career goals and why you've chosen King's.
Selection on merit
The faculty-level scholarship committee reviews applicants in batches through the spring. Outcomes are typically released within four to six weeks of submission, but the round can close early if all awards are allocated.
Accept and enrol
Successful applicants must accept the award and confirm enrolment by the published deadline. The tuition discount is applied automatically to the first-year fee invoice.
Why King's College London?
