Glasgow International Leadership Scholarship
The Glasgow International Leadership Scholarship offers a £10,000 tuition discount to international students from selected countries — including Sri Lanka — joining a one-year taught Master's at the University of Glasgow. The scheme is open across most faculties (Arts & Humanities, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, Medical-Vet-Life Sciences, Adam Smith Business School), with a small number of programme exclusions. Around 100 awards are made each year, awarded on academic merit.

Eligible Country National
Open to nationals of around 30 selected countries including Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines, and several African and Latin American countries. Check the official list for the current cycle.
Offer for Eligible Master's
Hold an offer for a one-year full-time taught Master's at Glasgow. A small list of MBAs, online programmes, and professional doctorates is excluded.
Strong Academic Record
Typically an upper second-class honours degree (UK 2:1) or higher. Sri Lankan first-class or strong second-class upper graduates are usually competitive.
English Proficiency
Meet the English language requirement for your Master's programme — typically IELTS 6.5 overall with no skill below 6.0, or equivalent.

Submit your Glasgow postgraduate application via the official portal. You need an offer (conditional is fine) before applying for the scholarship.
Complete the scholarship form
Apply through the Glasgow scholarships portal — submit your personal statement (max 500 words), CV, and offer details.
Selection on merit
Awards are made on academic merit and the strength of the personal statement. Glasgow runs multiple deadlines throughout the cycle (typically January, March, and May).
Accept and enrol
Successful awardees receive a £10,000 discount applied directly to their tuition. Confirm your place at Glasgow within the published deadline to retain the award.
