Ewha Global Partnership Programme Scholarship

The Ewha Global Partnership Programme (EGPP) is a fully-funded scholarship for women from designated partner / developing countries — Sri Lanka is on the eligible list. The award covers 100% of tuition fees, a KRW 800,000/month living stipend (approx LKR 184,000/month or LKR 2.2M/year), on-campus housing in International House, and a one-off airfare contribution. Awarded across undergraduate, Master's, and PhD levels. Ewha Womans University is one of Asia's most prestigious women's universities, with strong programmes across International Studies, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, Music, and the Sciences. The EGPP is one of very few fully-funded Asian undergraduate scholarships accessible to Sri Lankan women.

EGPP is open to female applicants from a designated list of partner / developing countries, which includes Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and around 30 others. Applicants must hold the citizenship of an eligible country.

Strong Academic Record

Undergraduate applicants need strong A-Level / equivalent results (3 A's or better is ideal); Master's applicants need a first-class or upper-second Bachelor's; PhD applicants need a research Master's with a relevant thesis. Sri Lankan first-class graduates from Colombo, Peradeniya, Kelaniya, etc. are competitive.

Ewha Programme Admission

You must apply to and be admitted to a full-time Ewha programme. Eligible programmes include the English-taught Bachelor's in International Studies, MBA, MSc in various sciences, and PhD across most departments. Some Korean-taught programmes are eligible if you provide TOPIK 4+ evidence.

English Proficiency

For English-taught programmes: TOEFL iBT 80+, IELTS 6.5+, or English-medium curriculum waiver. Sri Lankan candidates with English-medium degrees may submit an MOI letter to waive the IELTS requirement for some programmes.

Apply to Ewha + EGPP together

Submit a single combined application via the Ewha Office of International Affairs by 31 October 2025 (Spring) or 30 April 2026 (Fall). Application includes transcripts, recommendation letters (2 for UG, 3 for PG/PhD), statement of purpose, study plan, English test (or waiver), passport copy, and an explicit statement that you wish to be considered for EGPP.

Department + scholarship review

Your application is reviewed simultaneously by the academic department (for admission) and the Office of International Affairs (for EGPP eligibility). Shortlisted candidates are notified in December (Spring intake) or June (Fall intake).

Interview by Zoom

Shortlisted candidates are invited for a 20-30 minute Zoom interview with the Ewha International Office. The interview probes academic motivation, post-graduation plans, and intended contribution to your home country / region.

Final outcome + visa

Final scholars are notified roughly 4-6 weeks before programme start. Acceptance secures full tuition + monthly stipend + International House housing. You then apply for the Korean Student Visa (D-2) with the Ewha sponsorship documentation.
