MSc International Strategic Management
Lund University
Course Overview
Lund University's MSc International Strategic Management (ISM) is delivered through Lund School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) — triple-accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) and Sweden's top-ranked business school. Lund itself is the largest university in Scandinavia (founded 1666) and consistently ranks top-100 globally. The ISM is a two-year English-taught master's focused on the strategic and organisational challenges of operating across borders.
Sri Lankan applicants from business / economics / international relations backgrounds use the ISM as a route into Nordic and European multinationals — IKEA (Älmhult, 1.5 hours from Lund), H&M (Stockholm), Ericsson, Tetra Pak (Lund-headquartered), AstraZeneca, Volvo Group, Spotify, Klarna, Bonava, and ABB all recruit Lund ISM graduates. Lund's location in southern Sweden (Skåne) puts Copenhagen 35 minutes away via the Øresund Bridge — many ISM students work part-time in Copenhagen during studies. Year 1 covers strategy, organisation, international business, and research methods; Year 2 includes electives, exchange semester options, and a master's thesis often co-supervised with industry partners.
