Course Overview

Università Cattolica's MSc Data Analytics for Business is a two-year, 120-ECTS master's taught entirely in English at the Milan campus. The first year builds the quantitative core (mathematical methods and probability, statistical inference, applied linear models and database systems), and the second year moves into statistical learning, time-series analysis and deep learning. Students then specialise in either Data Science Methods or Applied Business Analytics, with electives such as causal inference, supply-chain analytics and internships. Like all Cattolica degrees it includes a short theology seminar component, and free Italian classes are available through the university's language service.

Cattolica is one of Europe's largest private universities and a long-standing feeder into Milan's corporate, banking and consulting sector. The programme suits Sri Lankan graduates in statistics, mathematics, computer science, actuarial science or quantitative economics from Colombo, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kelaniya, Moratuwa, SLIIT or NSBM who want to become data scientists or BI analysts in a business setting. Non-EU students pay a flat €9,370 a year, reduced to €6,400 with the UCSC International Scholarship, and Italy's 12-month 'attesa occupazione' permit lets graduates stay on to look for work.
