Course Overview
University of Malta's BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering is delivered through the Faculty of Engineering. The 4-year accredited programme covers circuits and electronics, signals and systems, electromagnetics, control systems, power systems, embedded systems, telecommunications, semiconductor devices, and a final-year design project. Malta hosts ST Microelectronics' largest non-EU manufacturing site outside Italy at Kirkop, plus Methode Electronics and Trelleborg — giving students rare access to real semiconductor and electronics manufacturing internships within a small island campus.
Sri Lankan A-Level applicants from Physical Science streams choose this programme for the combination of EU-level engineering accreditation, English-medium delivery, and the lowest tuition tier (€10,000-€11,000/yr Bachelor's) among accredited EU programmes. Graduates route into Malta's electronics manufacturing belt and into Sri Lankan firms (CEB transmission and distribution, Lanka Electricity Company, Dialog Axiata RF / network teams, MillenniumIT electronics, and IFS R&D embedded systems). Chartered Engineer (Sri Lanka) registration via IESL is the standard return-home pathway.

Academic
- check_circle Sri Lankan Cambridge / Edexcel A-Levels: 2 A-Levels at grade C or above (Mathematics and Physics required) plus 5 O-Level / GCSE passes including Mathematics, English, and Chemistry.

- check_circle IB Diploma: 28-32 points including Mathematics and Physics at Higher Level.

English Proficiency

Electrical & Electronic Engineering graduates qualify for Malta's 6-month post-study job-search residence permit, with conversion to a Single Permit at a qualifying offer.
