Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability
Monash University
Course Overview
Monash's Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability is delivered by the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment — ranked in the global top 50 for Environmental Sciences. The 3-year programme is interdisciplinary by design: students combine core environmental science (climate, ecology, hydrology, geosciences) with one of seven specialisations including Conservation and Land Management, Climate Change, Earth Science, Environmental Management, Geography, Pollution and Environmental Quality, or Sustainable Development. Field-based learning includes Heron Island (Great Barrier Reef), Wilsons Promontory National Park, and Murray-Darling Basin water-management studies.
Sri Lankan applicants — particularly those motivated by Sri Lanka's vulnerability to sea-level rise, coastal erosion in the Eastern and Northern provinces, the Sinharaja and Knuckles rainforest conservation pipeline, and the climate-finance agenda — choose Monash for the interdisciplinary breadth and the post-study work / PR opportunity. Environmental Scientist (ANZSCO 234313) is on Australia's MLTSSL with direct PR routes.
