Course Overview

Emirates Aviation University (EAU) is owned and operated by the Emirates Group — the parent of Emirates Airline, dnata, and Emirates Flight Training Academy. The BSc in Aeronautical Engineering is delivered through the EAU Faculty of Engineering at the Dubai International Airport campus, with full access to Emirates' MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) facilities, hangars, and ground operations. The 4-year programme is accredited by the UK's Engineering Council (CEng pathway) and the UAE Ministry of Education, with coursework covering aerodynamics, aircraft structures and materials, propulsion systems, avionics and flight control, aircraft systems and instrumentation, maintenance management, and airworthiness regulations. Students complete a 12-week industrial placement at Emirates Engineering or dnata's ramp operations during Year 3.

Sri Lankan applicants choose EAU over UK / Australian on-campus aerospace programmes because the Dubai location places students directly inside the world's busiest international hub for long-haul aviation (Emirates operates ~270 wide-body aircraft including the world's largest A380 fleet), the AED 90,000/year tuition is significantly below UK aerospace fees (£28,000+/year), and the direct hiring pipeline into Emirates Engineering, dnata Aviation Services, Etihad Engineering, GE Aviation Dubai, Pratt & Whitney's UAE service centre, and Airbus Middle East gives graduates exceptional first-job opportunities. UAE post-study work is via the 2-year Job Seeker visa on graduation, with Green Visa and 10-year Golden Visa pathways for skilled aviation engineers. Sri Lankan returnees route into senior engineering positions at SriLankan Airlines Engineering and Maintenance (Katunayake), the Sri Lanka Air Force Engineering Wing, the Sri Lanka Institute of Aeronautics (SLIA), Helitours Sri Lanka, and into Chartered Engineer (Sri Lanka) status via EngSL.
