Course Overview
UOWD's BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering is taught at the Dubai campus and the degree is conferred by the University of Wollongong, Australia — one of the top Australian engineering schools. The program is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and structured to meet the Washington Accord standards, so the qualification is recognised in Australia, the UK, Canada, and across the Gulf.
The curriculum covers structural design, geotechnical engineering, transportation, water resources, construction management, and BIM/digital project delivery — all skills in heavy demand for Dubai's ongoing infrastructure pipeline (Expo legacy projects, Etihad Rail, RTA expansion). UOWD civil engineering graduates are hired by Parsons, AECOM, WSP, Dar Al-Handasah, Arabtec, and the RTA — Dubai's contractor and consultancy market is one of the largest in the world per capita. The UAE Golden Visa now covers qualifying engineers, and the 2-year post-study work permit gives graduates room to register as Engineer-in-Training with the Society of Engineers UAE while job-hunting.
