Monash University
Course Overview
Monash's Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is a four-year, accredited program at the Clayton campus in Melbourne — Monash is ranked top 50 globally for engineering (QS 2025). Sri Lankan students complete a common first year and then specialise from year two: mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, mechatronics, materials, software, aerospace or environmental. The honours year embeds a substantial research or industry-linked capstone project.
The degree is fully accredited by Engineers Australia under the Washington Accord, so the qualification is recognised by IESL back in Sri Lanka without a bridging exam. Industry placements through the Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program place students at firms like BHP, Siemens, Telstra and Worley for paid 6–12 month rotations.
