Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons))
Massey University
Course Overview
Massey's BE(Hons) is a four-year Washington Accord–accredited engineering degree with majors in Chemical and Bioprocess, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Electronics and Computer Engineering. Teaching is hands-on from year one — Sri Lankan students who came in expecting only lectures usually note how much lab and workshop time is built into the timetable, including a 12-week industry project in the final year.
Washington Accord accreditation means the qualification is recognised by Engineers Australia, IEEE-PE in the UK, and IPENZ at home — relevant when graduates want to move between countries later. BE(Hons) holders are also eligible for the full 3-year Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV), and several engineering disciplines sit on the NZ Green List for Skilled Migrant residency.
