Wittenborg Scholarships and Study Funds

Wittenborg is a private, heavily international university of applied sciences in the Netherlands, with campuses in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam and Munich and a student body drawn from more than a hundred nationalities. Its funding is deliberately structured as several smaller awards rather than one large one, and the Wittenborg Funds are specifically released to attract excellent international students from outside the EU/EEA — which is precisely the category Sri Lankan applicants fall into. The Wittenborg Gold Fund gives a EUR 1,500 fee reduction, the Silver Fund EUR 1,000 and the Bronze Fund EUR 500. The Wittenborg Graduate Fund is larger, at a EUR 3,000 reduction on tuition for Master of Science or MBA programmes — roughly LKR 1.04 million. Separately, Wittenborg participates in the national scheme, offering ten Holland Scholarships of EUR 5,000 each for Bachelor's or Master's study, and ten MBA Scholarships of EUR 5,000 each for the Master of Business Administration. A Tech Women Master Scholarship offers a partial tuition fee waiver across the 1.5-year MBA programmes for technically educated female students. The single most important procedural point: all scholarships must be applied for during the admissions stage and before registration into the programme. Once you have registered, you cannot go back and claim them. Two honest caveats. Wittenborg is a private institution and its fees reflect that, so a EUR 1,000 or EUR 3,000 reduction is helpful but does not transform the cost — model your total before deciding. And nothing here covers Dutch living costs, which the IND requires you to evidence for the student residence permit, or health insurance and flights.

Applied for during the admissions stage, before registration. Wittenborg runs multiple intakes a year, so timing follows your chosen start block — confirm current fund values on wittenborg.eu

info How this award actually works

account_balance

Who awards it

Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences — not Lanka Scholar. We are not the awarding body and cannot grant, reserve or guarantee this award.

how_to_reg

How you are considered

Through your admission application. Awards like this are usually assessed automatically from the application you already submit — there is typically no separate scholarship form to fill in.

payments

What it covers

EUR 500-3,000 Wittenborg Funds Plus EUR 5,000 NL and MBA Scholarships. This is a reduction in tuition, not a full ride. You still fund the remainder, plus living costs and the balance your visa requires you to show.

handshake

Where we come in

We make the admission application strong enough to be competitive — course choice, documents, references and deadlines. The funder makes the decision.

account_tree Application Process

1

Apply for admission to Wittenborg

Apply online for a Bachelor's, MSc or MBA programme at the Apeldoorn, Amsterdam or Munich campus, with transcripts, CV, passport copy and English test results or accepted exemption evidence.

2

Apply for scholarships at the admissions stage

All scholarships must be applied for during admissions and before you register into the programme. This is the most common mistake — do not wait until after enrolment.

3

Check the NL Scholarship separately

Wittenborg offers ten Holland Scholarships of EUR 5,000 and ten MBA Scholarships of EUR 5,000. These are national scheme awards with their own criteria — ask admissions which you can apply for alongside a Wittenborg Fund.

4

Model the total cost honestly

Wittenborg is a private institution. Calculate tuition after any award plus roughly EUR 1,000-1,200 a month in Dutch living costs, health insurance and flights before you commit.

5

Apply for the Dutch student residence permit

Wittenborg applies to the IND on your behalf as a recognised sponsor. You must evidence tuition payment and living funds for the year, so have the money in a documented account well in advance.

Why Wittenborg?

Wittenborg is one of the most international institutions in the Netherlands by student mix, with small classes, multiple start dates a year and English as the sole language of instruction. Its business and management focus and Apeldoorn base make it a lower-cost alternative to studying in Amsterdam itself.
