University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is the flagship merit award for excellent international Master's students at the University of Twente — the Netherlands' leading entrepreneurial technical university, strong in engineering, computer science, nanotechnology, robotics, and the social sciences of technology. The scholarship is a one-year award, tiered roughly between €3,000 and €22,000 depending on your profile, intended to help fund tuition and living costs in the first year; recipients are expected to perform well to continue. It requires a separate scholarship application after you've applied for admission. For Sri Lankan students, a first-class or strong upper-second Bachelor's in a relevant technical or social-science field is the realistic baseline, and Twente's hands-on, project-based model suits applied learners. Confirm the current award tiers, deadlines, and any combination rules (UTS can sometimes be combined with other funding) before applying.

Non-EU/EEA Applicant
Primarily for talented non-EU/EEA international students paying the institutional tuition rate. Sri Lankan citizens are eligible. Check programme-specific rules, as some details differ by faculty.
Admission to a Twente Master's
You must first apply for, and meet the conditions for, admission to an eligible University of Twente Master's programme before submitting the scholarship application.
Academic Merit
Selection is merit-based. A first-class or strong upper-second Bachelor's in a relevant field, plus a convincing motivation, improves both your tier and chances. Awards are competitive.
English Proficiency
Typically IELTS 6.5 (sometimes higher for technical programmes) or TOEFL equivalent. Sri Lankan applicants with an English-medium Bachelor's may qualify via an MOI waiver where Twente accepts it.
