NUS Business School awards merit-based scholarships across its 17-month full-time MBA programme — ranging from SGD 30,000 partial scholarships (LKR 7.2M) up to full tuition waivers (SGD 78,000 = LKR 18.7M) for exceptional candidates. The NUS MBA is consistently ranked Asia's #1 MBA programme (Financial Times) and offers strong access to the Singapore-headquartered Asian corporate ecosystem. Admitted NUS MBA Candidate
You must be applying to or admitted to the NUS MBA (full-time, 17-month programme). Part-time NUS MBA and other NUS Master's programmes have separate scholarship schemes.
4+ Years' Work Experience
NUS MBA candidates typically have 4-8 years of post-Bachelor's professional experience. Sri Lankan candidates from MAS, John Keells, Brandix, top banks (HSBC, Standard Chartered, Commercial Bank), Big 4, and tech companies (Dialog, IFS, WSO2) are well-represented.
GMAT/GRE Required
GMAT 650+ (median ~670) or GRE equivalent. NUS does not offer GMAT waivers for the merit-scholarship pool. Strong GMAT (700+) significantly improves both admission and scholarship odds.
Open to All Nationalities
Merit scholarships are open to international applicants. Sri Lankan citizens compete in the same pool as other internationals. NUS MBA cohorts are typically 80%+ international, with strong Indian, Chinese, and Southeast Asian representation.

Apply to NUS MBA
Submit your application via the NUS MBA online portal. Required: essays (2 short essays + 1 video), GMAT/GRE, transcripts, 2 recommendations, CV, application fee SGD 250. Round 1 deadline gives the strongest scholarship odds.
Interview round
Shortlisted candidates are interviewed (virtual or in person) by NUS MBA admissions or alumni interviewers. Interview performance is a major factor in both admission and scholarship decisions.
Automatic merit consideration
All admitted candidates are automatically reviewed for merit scholarships. There is no separate application form. Awards are based on the holistic profile (GMAT, undergraduate record, professional achievements, interview).
Award in offer letter
If awarded, the scholarship amount is itemised in your NUS MBA admission letter. The amount is applied to tuition across the programme's 4 terms. Accept the offer via the portal, pay the (reduced) deposit, and apply for the Singapore Student Pass via SOLAR.
