Course Overview

The MSc International Health is delivered by the Berlin School of Public Health at Charité — Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the joint medical faculty of Humboldt University and Free University of Berlin. Charité is Germany's largest university hospital and consistently ranks among Europe's top medical institutions (top-10 European medical schools by THE / QS subject). The programme is taught entirely in English, designed for medical professionals, epidemiologists, public-health practitioners and global-health researchers from low- and middle-income countries — a large fraction of the cohort comes from South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

The curriculum covers epidemiology and biostatistics, global health policy, health-systems strengthening, infectious disease control, maternal and child health, environmental health, and a research dissertation. Charité runs strong collaborative ties with WHO Europe (Copenhagen and Bonn), Médecins Sans Frontières Berlin, the Robert Koch Institute (German CDC), and the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (Hamburg) — most students complete dissertations with one of these partners. Sri Lankan medical graduates from the Universities of Colombo, Peradeniya, Sri Jayewardenepura and Kelaniya, plus Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM) alumni, are well represented.
