MSc Mechanical Engineering
Technical University of Munich
Course Overview
TUM's MSc Mechanical Engineering is a two-year, fully English-taught program at the Garching campus, ranked #19 worldwide for Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering in QS 2026. Sri Lankan students choose from elective specialisations in production, energy systems, automotive, aerospace, mechatronics and robotics — with hands-on lab work at TUM's manufacturing institute (iwb) and a six-month industry thesis.
Tuition for non-EU students is €6,000 per semester (Winter 2024/25 onwards). The semester contribution is a flat €97. Garching sits at the heart of Bavaria's industrial corridor — MAN Truck & Bus, Siemens Energy, MTU Aero Engines and the BMW Group Research campus are all a short S-Bahn ride from campus.
