MSc Cyber Security

Luleå University of Technology's Master Programme in Cyber Security is a two-year, 120-credit programme taught in English and delivered on campus in Skellefteå (with a separate distance-learning cohort). It leads to a Master of Science with a major in Computer Science and Engineering, specialising in cybersecurity, and prepares students to protect systems, networks and data in both the private sector and government. Applicants need prior study in programming, computer networks and machine learning, which lets the programme go deep into security engineering, secure networked systems and the growing overlap between AI and security.

Only around ten campus places are offered to international students each year, so this is a selective option for strong Sri Lankan computer-science, computer-engineering and electrical-engineering graduates from Moratuwa, Colombo, SLIIT, IIT, NSBM or Peradeniya. LTU is Sweden's northernmost technical university and works closely with industry across the region, and non-EU tuition here is lower than at many Swedish technical universities. Sweden lets graduates stay up to 12 months after their studies to look for work, and cybersecurity is one of Europe's most acute skills shortages.
