Course Overview

Imperial College London is ranked #2 globally in QS World Rankings (2026) and Imperial's Department of Aeronautics is consistently ranked the world's top aeronautical engineering school by THE and QS Subject Rankings. The 4-year MEng Aeronautical Engineering is fully accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. The integrated Master's covers aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, flight dynamics, aircraft design, space systems, and computational fluid dynamics. Final-year students complete a major group design project (real-world Airbus / Rolls-Royce briefs) plus an individual research dissertation.

Sri Lankan applicants — particularly top-tier Mathematics / Physics A-Level students and SL Olympiad medallists — choose Imperial Aeronautics for the unmatched reputation, the direct alumni pipeline into Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BAE Systems, ESA, NASA-JPL, SpaceX, and the strong UK Graduate Route pathway.
