Course Overview
LUISS Guido Carli is Rome's leading private university — closely connected to the Italian Confindustria business federation and recognised across Italian government, public-policy, and consulting circles. Its BSc in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) is a three-year, English-taught programme modelled on the Oxford original, with a Rome-and-Italy twist that puts students near the Italian Parliament, Foreign Ministry (Farnesina), and the FAO/IFAD/WFP UN agencies.
The curriculum balances political theory, ethics and philosophy with rigorous economics — game theory, public economics, econometrics. Sri Lankan students who want a global IR career but also a foothold in EU policy or development economics use LUISS as a serious alternative to UK PPE programmes at half the cost. A semester abroad at LSE, Sciences Po, or Georgetown is standard.

Career Outcomes & PR
LUISS PPE graduates qualify for Italy's 12-month post-study residence permit and the EU Blue Card path. The career office places strongly into Italian consulting (Bain Italy, McKinsey Italy, Oliver Wyman Rome), into government and EU-policy bodies, and into corporate-affairs roles at Generali, UniCredit, Eni, and Enel. A significant minority progress straight into Master's programmes at LSE, LUISS, Sciences Po, or Bocconi.
