BSc in International Business
Aalto University (Mikkeli Campus)
Course Overview
Aalto University's BSc in International Business is the flagship English-taught undergraduate business programme in Finland, delivered from the Mikkeli campus (southeast Finland, ~2.5 hours by train from Helsinki). The Mikkeli BScBA is structured as a 3-year intensive programme using a modular block-teaching format — most modules are taught by visiting professors from leading global business schools (Wharton, NYU Stern, ESSEC, ESADE) over 1-2 week intensive blocks. The curriculum covers accounting, finance, marketing, strategy, organisational behaviour, international business, business analytics, and a capstone Bachelor's thesis.
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants who want a high-touch Nordic business education with international faculty rotation choose this programme — block teaching means smaller classes and significant visiting-faculty contact. Aalto University consistently ranks among Northern Europe's top business schools. Finland's 2-year post-study job-search residence permit (one of the longest in the EU) and the EU Blue Card pathway (~€3,827/month gross threshold in 2025) make permanent EU mobility realistic. Returnees route into corporate finance, consulting, and brand-management trainee programmes at John Keells, Hayleys, Brandix, MAS, Unilever SL, Dialog Axiata, plus Big Four advisory practices in Colombo.
