University of Turku
Course Overview
University of Turku is Finland's third-oldest university (founded 1920, building on the 1640 Royal Academy of Turku heritage) and a top research university in Western Finland. The BBA International programme is delivered through Turku School of Economics — AACSB accredited, one of only a handful of business schools in the Nordics with the triple-crown accreditations. The 3-year curriculum covers accounting, finance, marketing, management, international business, business analytics, business law, plus a year-long study-abroad / exchange option in Year 2 and a Bachelor's thesis. Turku is the centre of Finland's maritime industry (Meyer Turku shipyard) and home to Bayer, Orion Pharma, and a growing tech start-up scene.
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants who want AACSB-accredited Nordic business credentials at a moderate fee tier (€12,000/yr) choose Turku. Turku's living costs (€10,000-€11,000/yr) are lower than Helsinki. Finland's 2-year post-study job-search residence permit and EU Blue Card pathway support permanent EU mobility. Returnees route into management trainee programmes at John Keells, Hayleys, MAS, Brandix, Dialog, Hemas, Cargills, Aitken Spence, Unilever SL, plus Big Four advisory practices in Colombo.
