Bachelor's Programme in International Business
LUT University
Course Overview
LUT University's Bachelor's Programme in International Business is delivered through the LUT Business School at the Lappeenranta campus. LUT distinguishes itself by sitting business education inside Finland's leading technical university — students take core business modules alongside engineering and sustainability students, and many graduate into industrial-firm management roles where technical literacy matters. The 3-year curriculum covers accounting, finance, marketing, strategy, organisational behaviour, international business operations, sustainable business, business analytics, and a Bachelor's thesis.
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants from Commerce or Mathematics streams who want a Nordic English-taught business Bachelor's with a sustainability and industrial-management slant choose LUT. The lower tuition (€12,000/yr) and Lappeenranta living costs (€9,000-€11,000/yr) make total spend significantly lower than Helsinki / Espoo options. Finland's 2-year post-study job-search residence permit (one of the longest in the EU) and the EU Blue Card pathway support permanent EU mobility. Returnees route into management trainee programmes at John Keells, Hayleys, MAS, Brandix, Dialog, Hemas, Cargills, Aitken Spence, Unilever SL, plus Big Four advisory practices in Colombo.
