BSc in Business and Economics
Stockholm School of Economics
Course Overview
Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is the Nordic region's top business school — consistently ranked top-50 in Europe by the Financial Times and the only Swedish institution holding the triple AACSB / EQUIS / AMBA accreditation. The BSc in Business and Economics is SSE's flagship undergraduate degree, with intake of around 280 students per year (40-60 of whom are international). The Stockholm campus sits in Östermalm, surrounded by the Swedish corporate headquarters quarter.
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants choose SSE over UK / US options because of SSE's exceptionally strong placement into European investment banking, consulting, and PE (Goldman Sachs Stockholm, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, EQT, Nordic Capital), and the campus' proximity to Swedish unicorns (Spotify, Klarna, iZettle, Tink, Northvolt). The three-year programme is taught in English and Swedish across years 1-2; Year 3 is English-track with elective specialisation (Finance, Management, Marketing, Economics). Mandatory exchange semester at one of SSE's 70+ partner schools (Wharton, Bocconi, HEC, NUS).
