William Angliss Institute
Course Overview
William Angliss Institute is Australia's only specialist tourism, hospitality, culinary and events training institute, founded in 1940 and government-endorsed by the Victorian state. The Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management is delivered out of the Melbourne CBD campus on La Trobe Street — a 10-minute walk from Federation Square and Flinders Street Station. The 3-year degree covers tourism operations, hospitality service management, destination marketing, sustainable tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), and revenue management.
Sri Lankan applicants gravitate to William Angliss because the fees are roughly 35-40% lower than Group of Eight universities while the industry placements are very strong — partnerships include Marriott, Crown Resorts, Tourism Australia, Qantas, and the Melbourne Convention Bureau. The Institute also has direct articulation into Torrens University Master's programmes for students who want to extend to a Master's degree after their Bachelor.
