Bachelor of Business (International Hotel and Resort Management)
Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (Torrens University Australia)
Course Overview
Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) at Torrens University is Australia's only dedicated hotel-management school operating on a Swiss-style immersive learning model. Students spend Years 1 at the historic Leura campus (90 minutes from Sydney) living, working and learning hotel operations across food & beverage, rooms division, front office and culinary skills. Years 2 and 3 move to the Sydney CBD campus for advanced strategy, finance, revenue management and a final-year industry project. BMIHMS holds the Worldwide Hospitality Awards "Best Hospitality School" and is ranked in the global Top 10 by Hosco / Industry Hospitality Reports.
Sri Lankan applicants — particularly those from families in the Sri Lankan hotel sector (Aitken Spence, John Keells, Cinnamon, Jetwing, Heritance) or aiming at the Middle East / Maldives luxury-resort circuit — choose BMIHMS for the two mandatory paid 6-month industry placements (typically at Sheraton, Hilton, Crown Sydney, Park Hyatt) that fold into the degree. The placements typically generate AUD 25,000+ per placement, materially offsetting tuition. The Diploma + Bachelor pathway is also a strong PR feeder.
