Bachelor of International Hospitality Management
Auckland University of Technology
Course Overview
AUT's Bachelor of International Hospitality Management is a three-year degree run from the AUT City campus in central Auckland, with a 600-hour industry placement built into year 3. Specialisations include hotel and resort management, food and beverage, events, and tourism. The School of Hospitality and Tourism is ranked top 50 globally in QS Hospitality & Leisure Management. AUT also operates Four Sentences (a fully operational training restaurant) and Eight (a casual café), giving students live service experience from year 1.
Sri Lankan demand for this degree is steady — Sri Lanka's domestic hospitality market is constrained, but graduates with a NZ Bachelor + 3-year Post-Study Work Visa typically land roles in Auckland or Queenstown's 5-star property market within 3 months. Cafe and Restaurant Manager (ANZSCO 141111) is on the NZ Green List Tier 2 — a clear PR pathway after two years of qualifying employment.
