Bachelor in Business Informatics
University of Mannheim
Course Overview
Mannheim's Bachelor in Business Informatics (Wirtschaftsinformatik) is one of Germany's most respected hybrid business+IT undergraduate degrees, delivered jointly by Mannheim Business School and the School of Business Informatics & Mathematics. Mannheim is consistently ranked Germany's #1 business school (Handelsblatt, CHE rankings) and top-15 in Europe for business — its uniquely Anglo-Saxon term structure (autumn + spring rather than the German winter/summer pattern) makes it the easiest German top-tier business school for Sri Lankan applicants. The 7-semester programme covers business administration, accounting, finance, operations, software engineering, databases, enterprise systems (SAP S/4HANA — Mannheim is SAP's hometown university), data analytics and a mandatory internship semester.
Mannheim sits 30 minutes from SAP global HQ in Walldorf and operates the strongest SAP corporate-recruiter pipeline of any German university. Other industry partners include BASF (Ludwigshafen — 20 minutes by tram), Roche Pharma, John Deere European HQ, Daimler Truck and the Rhein-Neckar corporate cluster. The programme operates a hybrid German/English track — the first three semesters are primarily in German, with growing English-medium content in years 2-3 and an English-medium thesis option. Baden-Württemberg's modest €1,500/semester non-EU fee applies.
