Amandus H. Lundqvist Scholarship Programme (ALSP)
The Amandus H. Lundqvist Scholarship Programme (ALSP) is TU Eindhoven's most prestigious award for international Master's students — €15,000 per year for two years (€30,000 total / LKR 10.3 million), plus a separate scholarship to cover the full statutory tuition fees (around €2,500/year for non-EEA Master's students under TU/e's reduced international rate). The award is named for Amandus Lundqvist, a former TU/e Rector. TU/e is one of the world's top technical universities, ranked top-10 globally for innovation impact in the Reuters / Times Higher Education innovation rankings. Eindhoven is the heart of the Dutch 'Brainport' high-tech ecosystem — home to ASML, Philips, NXP, and a dense web of deep-tech startups offering strong graduate placement.

fact_check Eligibility Criteria
Apply to TU/e Master's by 1 February
You must apply to a full-time English-taught Master's at TU Eindhoven for September 2026 entry by 1 February. ALSP-eligible programmes include Computer Science & Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, and Industrial Design — most TU/e Master's programmes qualify.
Top 5% of Undergraduate Cohort
ALSP is reserved for applicants in the top 5% of their undergraduate cohort. For Sri Lankan applicants this means a first-class honours engineering / science degree from Moratuwa, Peradeniya, Colombo, SLIIT, or a strong overseas Bachelor's — ideally with research output (thesis publication, conference paper, project showcase).
Non-EEA Citizen
ALSP is reserved for non-EEA citizens, including Sri Lankan applicants. EEA / Swiss students have separate funding routes via the Dutch government and EU schemes. The award is independent of financial need — purely merit-based.
English Proficiency
Meet TU/e's standard English requirement — typically IELTS 6.5+ overall (with at least 6.0 in each component) or TOEFL iBT 90+. Sri Lankan applicants with English-medium engineering Bachelor's may submit an MOI waiver letter from their institution.
account_tree Application Process
Apply to TU/e Master's by 1 February
Submit your Master's application via the TU/e online portal. Include all transcripts (English translations), undergraduate ranking certificate (essential for ALSP), motivation letter, two academic references, CV, English test result, and (for some programmes) a research proposal sketch.
Indicate ALSP consideration
Within the Master's application, explicitly tick the ALSP consideration option. Submit an additional 800-1,000 word ALSP-specific motivation letter covering your academic excellence, research interests, and reasons for choosing TU Eindhoven over peer universities.
Departmental + central review
Your application is first reviewed by the Master's programme's admissions committee. Top-ranked candidates are nominated to the TU/e central scholarship committee. Final outcomes are released in April-May.
Acceptance + Dutch residence permit
Awardees receive an ALSP offer letter naming the €15,000/year living allowance and the tuition fee scholarship. The €15,000 is disbursed in monthly instalments after enrolment. You then apply for the Dutch student residence permit with TU/e as sponsor.
