The D-visa gets you into Malta. But within 90 days of arrival you must register at Identity Malta in Hal Far for the eResidence card — this is the second visa step that many DIY applicants delay. The registration unlocks banking, work permits, second-year visa renewal, and most public services. Miss the 90-day window and you risk losing your legal status.
