Course Overview
The University of Alberta is one of Canada's top-five research universities (QS top 5 in Canada) and its School of Public Health is the country's first stand-alone, fully accredited school of public health. The MSc Public Health is a thesis-based research Master's spanning epidemiology, biostatistics, global health, health policy and environmental health. For Sri Lankan medical, nursing and health-sciences graduates from Colombo, Peradeniya, Kelaniya or Rajarata, Alberta offers a research-intensive route into epidemiology and health-systems careers — with comparatively affordable Canadian tuition.

English Proficiency

Career Outcomes & PR
Alberta MSc graduates are eligible for the 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit and a clear PR pathway via Express Entry. Graduates work as epidemiologists and health analysts at Alberta Health Services, the Public Health Agency of Canada, provincial ministries and global-health NGOs, with many progressing to PhD study. Thesis-stream students often receive funding via assistantships. Sri Lankan returnees route into the Ministry of Health, the Epidemiology Unit, WHO Sri Lanka, and academic posts at PGIM and the medical faculties.
