ETH Zurich
Course Overview
ETH Zurich's MSc in Physics is offered by one of the world's elite science and technology universities — consistently ranked in the global top 10, with 22 Nobel laureates including Albert Einstein. The 2-year (120 ECTS) English-taught Master's offers a research-intensive education across quantum physics, condensed matter, particle and astrophysics, biophysics, and theoretical physics, with deep ties to CERN, the Paul Scherrer Institute, and IBM Research Zurich, and a major Master's thesis embedded in a research group.
Sri Lankan applicants — outstanding physics graduates — choose ETH Zurich for: world-leading research, English-medium delivery, famously low public-university tuition (CHF ~1,400/semester) despite the institution's elite status, and Switzerland's 6-month post-study job-search permit. ETH is one of the most selective destinations in this catalogue. The MSc is a premier feeder into PhD positions worldwide and into research roles in physics, photonics, quantum technology, and deep tech.
