MSc Molecular Medicine
Medical University of Graz
Course Overview
The Medical University of Graz offers an English-taught MSc in Molecular Medicine (Molekulare Medizin), a research-intensive 2-year (120 ECTS) Master's at one of Austria's three dedicated medical universities. The programme bridges basic biomedical science and clinical application — covering molecular and cell biology, genomics, immunology, cancer biology, metabolism, and translational research — with strong ties to Graz's BioTechMed cluster and the university's biobank, one of the largest in Europe. A substantial laboratory-based Master's thesis is embedded in an active research group.
Sri Lankan applicants — biomedical science, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, and health-science graduates — choose Med Uni Graz for: a specialist English-medium biomedical research credential, very low Austrian public-university tuition (€1,480/year), and Austria's open post-study pathway. It is a strong feeder into PhD positions across Europe. The MSc suits those targeting biomedical research, diagnostics, pharma R&D, and academic medicine.
