MSc in Management (Grande École)
ESSEC Business School
Course Overview
ESSEC's Master in Management (Grande École programme) is the French flagship two-year general management degree, taught across the Cergy and La Défense (Paris) campuses, with optional tracks at the Singapore and Rabat campuses. Sri Lankan applicants use it as a fast track into European consulting, finance, luxury, and tech management roles — ESSEC sits among the top three French business schools alongside HEC Paris and ESCP, and the Grande École degree is consistently ranked top-5 globally by the Financial Times for Masters in Management.
The structure is unusually flexible: after a foundational first year covering core management, finance, marketing, strategy and accounting, students customise their second year via 200+ electives, dual degrees, exchange semesters at partner schools (Wharton, Tuck, NUS, IIM Ahmedabad), apprenticeship contracts with French employers, or a research track. The English-track admission route means no French is required at entry, although students typically build conversational French by graduation — useful for Paris-based recruiters. Internship time (4-18 months across the programme) is mandatory and most students convert internships into graduate offers.
