MSc Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity
University of Klagenfurt
Deadline detail: End of February (non-EU applicants, special admission procedure)
Course Overview
The University of Klagenfurt's MSc Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity is a four-semester, 120-ECTS programme taught entirely in English. It concentrates on two core subjects and where they meet: AI fundamentals and machine learning on one side, cybersecurity on the other, with dedicated attention to the social, ethical and legal questions that arise when these systems are deployed. The programme is offered jointly with the University of Udine in Italy, and students can take a double-degree route that adds an Italian master's. Places are filled through a special admission procedure that includes a motivation video in English.
Sri Lankan computer-science and software-engineering graduates from Moratuwa, Colombo, SLIIT, IIT, NSBM or Kelaniya will find this a rare combination: two of the most in-demand specialisations in one degree, at Austrian public-university tuition of about €727 per semester. Klagenfurt is in Carinthia's 'Silicon Alps' corridor, close to Infineon's Villach site, Silicon Austria Labs and the Lakeside Science & Technology Park, and living costs are among the lowest in Western Europe. Austria's 12-month job-seeker residence permit gives graduates time to find security or AI roles in the EU.
