Master of Public Policy (MPP)

Georgetown's Master of Public Policy is delivered through the McCourt School of Public Policy — consistently ranked top-15 globally for Public Policy (US News, QS by Subject) and uniquely positioned in Washington DC, two metro stops from the US Capitol, the White House, the IMF, the World Bank, the OAS, and the major DC think tanks (Brookings, CSIS, Carnegie Endowment, Wilson Center, Atlantic Council). The 2-year MPP is structured around a quantitative core (Microeconomics, Statistics, Econometrics, Policy Analysis), a policy-area concentration (International Development Policy, Education Policy, Health Policy, Social Policy, Environmental Policy, or Public Management), and a capstone consulting project for a real DC-based client (recent: USAID, the World Bank Africa Region, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Department of Health and Human Services).

Sri Lankan applicants choose Georgetown McCourt because the DC location is the highest-value asset of any public policy programme globally — the internship pipeline into USAID, the World Bank, the IMF, the IDB, the OAS, and the major think tanks is unmatched. Tuition is significant (USD 60,000/yr) but McCourt's scholarship rates for outstanding international applicants are high (~50% of admits receive partial funding).
