Master's in Information Display

Kyung Hee University's graduate programme in Information Display is one of the few departments in the world dedicated entirely to display science and technology, and all of its classes are taught in English. Based on the Seoul campus within the College of Sciences, it covers the design, fabrication, simulation and characterisation of display panels, with research groups in OLED, TFT-LCD, flexible displays, field-emission displays, 3D displays and display image quality. Students train in the Advanced Display Research Center (ADRC), which has the rare ability to fabricate thin-film-transistor display panels in-house, and the department builds internships with display companies into its training.

South Korea is the global centre of the display industry, home to Samsung Display and LG Display, and Kyung Hee's department was set up specifically to feed that sector with research engineers and technical managers. For Sri Lankan graduates in physics, electronics, electrical and electronic engineering, materials science or chemistry from Colombo, Peradeniya, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kelaniya, Moratuwa or Ruhuna, it offers hands-on semiconductor and display experience that is almost impossible to get at home. Korean graduate tuition is modest by Western standards, research-assistant funding is common, and the D-10 job-seeker visa lets graduates stay on to look for work in Korea.
